On the morning of 12 September, Ho Chi Minh City – the city named after President Hồ Chí Minh – officially opened the fifth leg of the "I Love My Country" journey for 2026. The ceremony began with a flower offering to President Hồ Chí Minh at the Nguyen Huệ pedestrian boulevard, followed by a flag‑raising event at Ly Thai Tổ Park, a green space that also commemorates Covid‑19 victims.

Since its launch in 2014, the "I Love My Country" movement has become a flagship programme for the Federation, offering a platform for young people to train, serve and grow.
This year’s stage emphasized concrete acts of patriotism
- Distribution of social‑welfare gifts to 100 disadvantaged youths, disabled freelancers, and 50 children still affected by the pandemic
- A 100‑million‑dong donation to the Ho Chi Minh City Cancer Hospital for under‑privileged pediatric cancer patients, a decision taken at the Federation’s 10th Congress (2026‑2031) held on 11 September
Organisers highlighted that each phase refreshes its content and outreach methods, yet the core values remain unchanged: love for the nation expressed through study, work, cultural preservation, volunteerism and a shared aspiration to contribute to Vietnam’s development.
