Two Fatal September Crashes Claim Lives of Vietnamese Teachers

Collision on National Road 10 in Khánh Nhác

On 10 September, a collision on National Road 10 in Khánh Nhác, Ninh Bình, resulted in the death of Vũ Đình Vụ, a 42‑year‑old literature teacher at Kim Son A High School. The accident occurred at about 15:25 when truck driver Nguyễn Đức Sôn (born 1972, Thanh Hóa) in a BKS 36C-210.96 struck the motorcycle of Vụ (born 1980, Hưng Yên) bearing plate 17N4-4210. The impact forced the bike beneath the truck, causing severe injuries to Vụ, who died on the spot, and heavy damage to both vehicles. Local traffic police secured the scene and began an investigation into the cause.

Tragic Crash on East Buôn Ma Thuột Bypass

A week later, at 10:50 on 17 September, another tragic crash occurred on the East Buôn Ma Thuột bypass, km 11+700, in Đắk Lạk. An 18‑year‑old trainee driver, B.C.H. of Ea Knóp, was operating a training car (plate 47C-348.xx) from Nam Viet Vocational Driving School when he failed to observe a stationary truck (plate 79H-129.xx). The vehicle slammed into the rear of the truck, crushing the cabin and killing the accompanying driving instructor, P.T.T., 33, of Ea Kly, instantly. Bystanders helped extract the instructor, and police estimated property loss at roughly 40 million VND. Initial findings point to driver inattention as the primary factor.

Both incidents have spurred coordinated investigations by provincial traffic police, underscoring concerns over road safety and driver vigilance in Vietnam.
