Trần Cẩm Tú, Standing Secretary of the Party Committee, chaired a review with the Party Committee of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS). He called for renewed leadership methods, stressing party building in ideology, politics and ethics, and urged stronger inspection, supervision and early‑stage discipline to prevent violations. The secretary ordered that lingering cases be examined objectively and that those who act correctly be protected, while any misuse of democratic mechanisms to sow internal division must be strictly punished. He also highlighted the need to modernise research, enhance policy‑consulting capacity, and accelerate digital transformation, urging the recruitment of domestic and overseas experts, streamlining the institute’s structure, and instituting performance‑based staff evaluations.
Three days later, on 14 September
On 14 September, Trần Cẩm Tú led Inspection and Supervision Team No. 221 of the Politburo in a conference reviewing the draft report of the third inspection of the Central Military Commission’s Standing Committee. He demanded that the commission rectify all shortcomings identified in previous checks, regularly revise personnel regulations, clarify authority and responsibility, and improve the quality of leadership cadre planning with an appropriate age structure. Emphasising discipline, anti‑corruption and waste prevention, he called for strict handling of any violations and the removal of under‑performing officers. The secretary also urged a revamp of training programmes, prioritising high‑tech warfare command, unit management, foreign languages and digital skills, while attracting talent to remote and difficult regions. Defence Minister Phan Văn Giang affirmed the commission’s commitment to implement the recommendations.
