Công ty Cổ phần Dầu khí Đầu tư Khai thác Cảng Phước An (UPCoM: PAP) announced its slate of candidates for the board of directors for the 2026‑2031 term, to be presented at an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on 25 September 2026.
Among the five nominees, former Vietnam national team captain and head coach Nguyễn Hữu Thắng stands out. Born in 1971, Thắng captained the national side before coaching clubs such as Sông Lam Nghệ An, Hà Nội T&T, and the Vietnam U23 squad, leading Sông Lam Nghệ An to the V.League title in 2011.
After retiring from professional football, Thắng shifted to business, serving as technical director for corporate teams in Ho Chi Minh City and Đồng Nai, and investing in industrial zones, transport projects and ports across Ho Chi Minh City, Hà Tĩnh and Đồng Nai. Since age 53 he has been Vice General Director and a board member of PAP, although he holds no PAP shares. The company’s filing shows his total remuneration for 2025 will be about VND 1.18 billion.
The current board comprises seven members: Chairman Nguyễn Thành Đạt, Trương Hoàng Hải, Đào Minh Tùng, Nguyễn Hữu Thắng, Nguyễn Thái Phúc, Trần Nhân Tâm and Nguyễn Hồng Sơn. At the upcoming meeting, shareholders will vote to dismiss the entire 2024‑2029 board and elect five new directors: Trần Nhân Tâm, Trương Hoàng Hải, Nguyễn Thành Đạt, Nguyễn Thái Phúc and Nguyễn Hữu Thắng.
Thắng’s nomination was put forward by a bloc of five shareholders—Bùi Hữu Quốc Bảo, Hoàng Thanh Hùng, Phan Thế Anh, Bành Xuân Hoài and Võ Trung Thành—who together control 76.5 million shares, representing 21.43% of PAP’s voting rights.
