On 15 September, Deputy Party Secretary of Dong Nai Province Võ Tấn Đức and Deputy Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Thị Cát Tiên met with the Dong Nai City Land Fund Development Center.
Director Nguyễn Cao Tài reported that the centre has been allocated VND 4,427 billion in public investment for the year and, by mid‑September, had disbursed more than 80 % of that budget.
The centre is coordinating with communes and wards to clear land for 296 projects covering over 15,000 ha, including 25 priority projects.
Võ Tấn Đức ordered a focus on removing bottlenecks in compensation and land‑acquisition processes, urging agencies to identify slow‑moving projects and to shift from a reactive to a proactive resettlement approach. Residents displaced must receive housing of equal or better quality, and task forces are to be set up for on‑site monitoring and dialogue.
Progress on flagship transport works is strong:
The Dầu Giây‑Tân Phú highway (phase 1), the Ho Chi Minh City‑Thu Dau Mot‑Chơn Thành corridor, and the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City‑Long Thanh highway all report clearance rates above 90 %. The Ring Road 4 (Vành đai 4) has reached 74.2 % land clearance, while three inner‑city routes linking to Long Thanh Airport (roads 769, 770B, 773) have cleared more than half of the required area.
Regarding land auctions
The centre is tasked with auctioning 36 parcels in 2026; 16 have completed legal procedures and are being publicly advertised, while the remaining 18 are slated for auctions in October‑November.
Võ Tấn Đức emphasized that auction revenue is vital for the city’s finances and set five immediate actions:
- Prioritize high‑potential parcels
- Resolve rubber‑land disputes
- Align price‑setting mechanisms with market realities
- Eliminate overly high starting bids
- Ensure land clearance precedes investment
