Da Nang city is preparing for a prolonged period of heavy rain after the Central Vietnam Hydro‑Meteorological Center issued a flood warning on 11 September. Rainfall recorded between 13:00 GMT on 10 September and 13:00 GMT on 11 September ranged from 30‑100 mm, with isolated totals of 133.2 mm in Tam Trà, 138.2 mm at Hoà Trung lake and 106.2 mm in Ái Nghĩa. Forecasts for 11‑13 September predict 100‑250 mm across most districts and more than 350 mm in some locations, with intensities that could reach 100 mm in three hours. River levels are currently below alert level 1, but the centre warned that from 12‑14 September the Vu Gia‑Thu Bồn system could rise 3‑5 m upstream, 2‑3 m in the middle reaches and 0.5‑1 m downstream, potentially exceeding alert level 1. The Han and Tam Kỳ rivers are expected to stay below the alert threshold.
In response, the Department of Construction ordered the Da Nang Water Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company to deploy maximum personnel to inspect, clear and clean drainage gates and ditches, especially on key roads such as:

Reservoirs at Park 29.3, Thạc Gián‑Vĩnh Trung and K5 are being lowered to increase storage capacity.
The civil‑defence command has instructed local authorities to monitor forecasts, alert residents, and inspect riverside, low‑lying and landslide‑prone zones. Measures include clearing flow paths, reinforcing weak road sections and bridges, and, where necessary, relocating residents. Military, police and related agencies are also preparing personnel, vehicles and supplies under the “four‑at‑the‑spot” principle to safeguard schools, construction sites, traffic, agriculture, aquaculture and tourism throughout the city.
