National Center for Hydro‑Meteorological Forecasts (NCHMF) issued a warning that from the night of 11 September through 14 September, four Central provinces—Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Trị, Huế and Đà Nẵng—will experience prolonged, intense rainfall. Measured totals between 7:00 and 15:00 on 11 September already exceeded 100 mm at several stations, including Đậu Liêu (Hà Tĩnh) at 102 mm and Bạch Mã (Huế) at 137.2 mm. Forecasts project daily averages of 70–150 mm across the core zone, with localized peaks above 250 mm and isolated accumulations that could surpass 800 mm by the end of the period.
The heavy rain band will extend eastward to Quảng Ngãi and further to the highlands of Gia Lai and Đắk Lắk, where 30–60 mm is expected, with occasional points over 100 mm. Southern provinces such as Lâm Đồng and An Giang are also slated for intense showers, recording 103.8 mm at PRóh‑Đơn Dương and 132.4 mm at An Hảo respectively.
A tropical low pressure system currently over the East Sea is expected to intensify into a tropical depression within 1‑2 days. The system has already produced wind gusts of force 6‑7 in the Bạch Long Vỹ area and will bring rain and thunderstorms to the northern and southern maritime zones, including the Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa archipelagos and the Gulf of Thailand.
The NCHMF advises that the rain may continue into the morning of 16 September, urging residents in the most affected provinces to prepare for flooding, landslides and strong gusts, while monitoring updates on the evolving tropical low.
